What is it about Haiti?

For years my heart has been drawn to this small poor country. I found other people who are in love with Haiti and that has fostered some deep growth. The only way to pinpoint my direction is God. God himself has burned a passion for this place that I have not even been to. I watch blogs and pray for the children listed, I scan stores for clothes to send, and moreover dream of the exact moment to begin an adoption process through Haiti.

Haiti.

The passion is shared in my family of four. We often talk about the country and what life may be like there. We think up names for the siblings that will stand in our mix. I have a boy who talks of feeding centers and his vision for a life given away. Maybe one day God will send us there.

One day.

This May I have the great treat of traveling to Haiti. I am going on a missions trip through Children’s Lifeline. Just talk of the trip sends flutters to my stomach and a smile to my face. I know something awaits me there. I cannot wait to journal about the priceless minutes. I have been on mission trips before but nothing like this.

Haiti.

I am honored to write this page. To those of you who have given to my trip financially, THANK you. I could not say it enough. I covet your all prayers for myself as well as the team I will be traveling with. May our eyes be opened to see Jesus in the faces of the Haitians we encounter. May we step out of our selfishness to be Jesus to them.

If you would like to donate to this trip just click here and go to the link at the bottom of the post. For the life of me I cannot get the picture button to show up so this was the next best option. I have spent way too much time trying to figure this out.
